When submitting content (e.g. for Vmail) s give us permission to use their stuff, but in a non-exclusive way (so they still own it).

There’s no intrusive tracking or sneaky third-party data sharing. Our analytics service sets no cookies and minimal data is stored (full data policy), and any ‘goals’ we measure are only aggregated counts.
The CDN sets no cookies and only monitors traffic for security/reliabity purposes. The web server has temporary log files that record uncached requests.
Embedded YouTube videos either use cookie-free ‘privacy-enhanced’ mode or have an opt-in button.
When s submit content via a form, their IP addresses are used to detect spam/abuse.
Vmail is handled by our own self-hosted newsletter system. No special open/click tracking is added to emails, and images are hosted on this site.

GANksy and This MP Does Not Exist were created with machine learning models trained only on content we supplied. The Kubrick Times played on the quirks of older text and image generation services. We also experimented with replacing our clumsy photoshopping in Imaginary Friends Reunited (we’re unlikely to do this again, and may replace those images), and used automatic transcription for video subtitles.
We occasionally commission work (illustration, music, voice acting) to bring a project to life with a specific person’s unique talent and unexpected ideas; AI will not be used to replace that or our own creativity.
